Child Therapy
Helping Kids Thrive at Home and at School
What Is Child Therapy?
Child therapy is a safe, supportive space where children can express themselves, work through challenges, and develop healthy ways to cope—all at their own pace and in ways that feel natural to them. Whether through talk, play, creative activities, or mindfulness, therapy helps kids process big feelings and feel more understood.
Children may not always have the words to explain what they’re going through, but their emotions and behaviors often speak for them. Therapy helps uncover the root of those struggles and gives your child tools to feel more calm, confident, and connected.
How Child Therapy Helps
Children come to therapy for many reasons—anxiety, sadness, behavior challenges, school stress, family changes, or just not feeling like themselves. I specialize in supporting children who have experienced trauma, whether from a single event or ongoing stress. These experiences can affect how a child feels, behaves, and relates to the world—and healing takes both time and the right kind of support.
My approach is gentle, trauma-informed, and grounded in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness. I help children build emotional awareness, develop coping skills, and strengthen their sense of safety and self-worth.
Support for Parents, Too
As part of the process, I also work directly with parents through parent coaching to help you better understand your child’s needs, respond effectively to difficult behaviors, and support your own well-being. Parenting is hard—especially when your child is struggling—and having someone guide you can make a big difference.
In many cases, I also bring parents and children together for family therapy, where we work on improving communication, building trust, and creating a more connected and peaceful home environment.
You don’t have to do this alone. With the right tools and support, healing is possible—for your child, and for your whole family.
